I’m Ashley Reid and I am coaching three extra routines this season. I am a Level I certified coach and have partially completed my Level II certification. I have been coaching for four years now and I love every minute of it. I have coached many successful routines and have had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing girls.
My swimming career began in 1995 with the Calgary Aquabelles. I swam there for one year and then moved into the recreational program at the YMCA. After one year at the YMCA I moved to Killarney and really enjoyed it. I swam competitively with the club for 8 years and was very successful there. Some of the highlights included Alberta Winter Games, pre-swimming at Nationals, participating in the Gala Watershow at Nationals and attending Quebec provincials in Montreal . I met some lifelong friends some of whom I swam with for my entire career at Killarney. Then I moved on to Masters and swam for the Killarney Masters team for two years.
I dearly miss swimming but I am grateful for the opportunity to pass on my knowledge as a swimmer and a coach to the next generation of swimmers, and to continue learning from them.
Outside of the synchro world, I am currently in my fourth year of a Visual Communications degree at the Alberta College of Art and Design with a major in graphic design. I’m looking forward to graduating in the spring. I also work as a lifeguard and swimming instructor on the side.
