On Saturday, October 1st Jacklyn Holmes-Smith was presented with the Synchro Alberta Provincial Stream Coach of the Year Award. This award is given to the Provincial Stream Coach with the highest achieving athletes at Wildrose Qualifier and the Wildrose Classic. We are very proud of Jacklyn and her achievement. Jacklyn has been with Killarney for many years now, first as an athlete and now as a coach. She is an extremely valuable asset to our club, always willing to take on any challenges we present to her. Her athletes always achieve success no matter where they start at the beginning of the season. I know that her athletes love her as much as I do. If you see Jacklyn around the pool be sure to say Congratulations!

Killarney offers a pre-competitive as well as a competitive program. The goal of the pre-competitive program is to introduce swimmers to Synchronized Swimming and develop skills which will prepare them for the competitive program. Swimmers will learn basic sculling skills and Synchro positions as well as a routine which they will perform at the year end Watershow. Swimmers may try out our pre-competitive program at any time during the swim season.

Good luck to our 13-15 Provincial Team, our 13-15 duet and our 11-12 duet who will be travelling to Spruce Grove this weekend to compete at the Alberta Winter Games. Athletes that will be competing are: (Duet) Maiya Sweet and Megan Mozill (Team) Camille Edwards and Natalie Neufeld (Duet), Susan Franco, Alicia Van Hyfte, Bianaca Chiacchia and Ella Hnatyshyn
This weekend, athletes from across Alberta participated in the National Stream Provincial Qualifier. Killarney was proud to host this event, and thanks to Jeff Pieper, the host committee and all the wonderful volunteers it was a hugely successful event. Killarney athletes from the provincial stream participated as well, by either pre-swimming or as exhibition. Athletes, coaches and volunteers received a wonderful surprise when they were treated to massages thanks to the generosity of Mount Royal University. Congratulations to all participants!
